Apart from delivering seriously good hair, our aim at Radical is to have highly educated and all-rounder stylists that are competent in evolving with the newest global hair industry trends, but always respecting the true classics and foundations of hair dressing in their creations.
We aim to deliver proud, detailed and ethical hair results to our supporting clientele, thus, who are also seen as a family to us.
We want to grow and create a strong hair movement of like minded & confident individuals #TheRadicalHairMovement.
It’s about building, evolving, serving & delivering the right experience and services to our hair community and we couldn’t be happier doing this everyday.
History
This is the story of Radical. We have been in business for over 35 years. Our founders, Laurence & Gina Bandiera originally built the foundations of Radical Hair in Castle Towers Shopping Centre in 1995 proudly being the first hair salon to set up shopfront.
After surviving the decades, Gina & Laurence decided they would adopt a new style of business and move premises to Round Corner, Dural.
They wanted to build a closer hair community and adopt more of a “boutique” style culture. This is where the #RadicalHairMovement begun…
The salon is now managed & directed by their daughter, Gemma who has dedicated her time to influencing the #RadicalHairMovement.
The salon has adopted and maintained a trendy boutique vibe with exclusive product partners and is filled with highly educated and invested hair stylists.
We like to phrase it, “We are just like a city salon, only in the suburbs…”.

I am so glad I found Radical Hair! I took a chance based on google reviews and they have lived up to their claim of being experts! Gemma and her team at Radical Hair are amazing! I found radical after someone in a group on Facebook recommended them. I made an appointment and was lucky enough to get Clare for that first time. She had a lot of correcting to do (from a terrible at home dye job) but I left with the best colour I’d ever had up to that point. Every time I go I think, I’ve peaked it can’t get better, and then Clare proves me wrong and I’m in love with the hair all over again. I have had Clare call me a week in advance because she’s thinking about my upcoming appointment and wanted to add extra time for some things she thought we should do to make the colour even better. That’s epic level care and customer service if you ask me. Honestly the best hairdressers I’ve ever been to. Clare is my go to hairdresser and I have never been disappointed!! I literally wouldn’t see anyone else. She explains what she’s thinking, ask lots of questions about what I’m looking for, and gets it spot on every time. The service, friendliness of staff and quality of Clare’s work is immaculate. I get compliments on my hair every time I get it done. Literally not a single negative thing to say!!

Came in to transform a long worn scalp bleach into a more natural shade of blonde with a root stretch and lowlights. Aware this isn't an easy correction, but knew I was in safe hands! Gemma explained exactly what she planned to do, and the how and why. Sure enough, it turned out perfectly blended while still maintaining enough blonde to not freak me out too much (as has happened in the past). Back in a week to put Great Lengths in to blend. Cannot wait to see the final results! Thanks again to Gemma and her team. They're all lovely 🙏🏻👏🏻🤩

Gemma did a two session colour correction on me. My hair had been jet black for almost 5 years and within two sessions over 3 weeks she got me to a light brown base with a blonde balayage. I truly didn’t think it was possible but she worked her magic while helping me maintain strong healthy hair. Gemma walked me through each step of the process, giving me multiple options and directions we could go at each step. She answered all of my questions and made me feel very comfortable in all of our decisions. The salon atmosphere is sincerely one of the greatest I’ve seen. Everyone is so kind and the team collaborates so well with one another. Clare, Gina, Jess, Brooke and Lily all contributed to my hair project as well. I’m so grateful to team Radical for everything they did for me!

I have had my hair colour done multiple times here and they nail it every time! I have seen both Gemma and Clare and they are both amazing at there jobs!! I could not recommend this place enough! They also do really good hair extensions that do not damage your hair. My hair thrived when I had them in they lasted for almost 5 months and my natural hair grew so much! Definitely give this place a go!

Been going to Radical for a few years now and have tried nearly each stylist. They are all as good as each other. I have also watched Christina grow from apprentice to standing on her own.
I was super impressed after my visit yesterday at the competency she has in executing perfect colour tones (and I'm not easy!) Her cut is impressive as well! She has so much talent but has been taught very well by the team at Radical to be a super stylist with great concept of her client's needs!

I’ve been going to to same hairdresser in the city for over 16 years, so changing from them to find someone local wasn’t an easy task. I’ve been to over a dozen salons in the hills district and have had my hair done at Radical Hair a few times now and love my hair every time. They are consistent with the end result and all their staff are so down to earth and make you feel very welcome. The price is fair and would highly recommend them over other salons in the hills. Shout out to Claire and Danielle, they are amazing.

Radical Hair Design have been the best salon I’ve ever attended - my colour has literally never looked better and I’ve never felt safer with haircuts (others often take off way too much)! I came to Radical after a bad experience at another salon where the root colour applied was far too dark for my hair. I saw all of the amazing reviews of Radical as well their images on Instagram, and that inspired me to book in for a consult. I had my consult (and all subsequent appointments) with the lovely Clare who has taken such great care of my hair. She’s found a colour that compliments my features so well and I can’t ever imagine straying from it, she always gives me a beautiful soft cut, and she did the fresh hair colour and cut for my wedding. When I saw my wedding photos I couldn’t stop commenting on how much I loved my hair colour - my hair has never looked better. I always look forward to coming in for my regular colour and trim. You guys are the best! Thank you Clare for being such a phenomenal hairdresser and taking such good care of my hair!

I was lucky enough to meet Gemma a little while back and always thought her hair was amazing. I have always struggled to find a hairdresser in Sydney who understand my hair and can explain what can and can not be done. I have been coming to Radical Hair Design for a few years now. I was originally looking for a colour specialist to help achieve a natural, bright and healthy balayage look for my wedding. I was so happy with the result and I haven’t looked back. The staff are all extremely friendly and welcoming, really getting to know each of their clients. It is a lovely atmosphere in the salon. Gemma offers an amazing service, providing professional and expert advice in all areas including colour, treatments, styling and products to achieve the best result. The staffs love of ‘all things hair’ and amazing customer service shines and I can’t recommend them enough!

I came to Radical Hair Design 2 years and Kim did my hair. She is absolutely beautiful and is like a fairy God mother of hair, she makes you feel like a star when you leave. Unfortunately I moved out of the area 2 years ago and was jumping around to different hairdressers. I was unable to find any other hairdresser like Radical Hair Design and have decided to hike up all the way to Dural to see Kim again. I’m so glad I did because the place has not changed! You will be treated exceptionally amazing here and all the staff are just stunning. Thank you for making me feel and look lovely Kim!

It’s been 5 long years since the wonderful Kim has cut and coloured my hair and she certainly did not disappoint! Kim was my hairdresser for 15 years, before life and distance got in my way, but knowing that I needed a change Kim was the only stylist I was ever going to trust for my transformation. Cannot recommend Radical Hair Design enough. The staff take the time to really ask about your hair needs and recommend something that works for your life style. I had neglected my hair for way too long and it was a bit of a mess when i walked in for a cut and blow dry with Kim today. Kim was amazing and has totally transformed my hair! Love the team at Radical, Akaysha is a creative genius with colour and styling and has taken me from 4 week tint and regrowth to once every 8. My hair has improved in condition and I love the colour. Despite weekly blow drys the la biosthetique pcc treatments keep my locks strong and healthy. In lock down Gemma recommended home pcc as well and I couldn’t be happier. Fantastic cut and colour! I came into this salon for the first time today. I was a fairly anxious client to say the least (having had some colour disasters elsewhere in the past) in need of a fresh cut and colour. I immediately felt welcomed by all the staff including the owners of the business and my stylist Kim. They listened carefully to what I was after and what my concerns were. We also discussed which options would fit within my budget while still achieving the look we were after.

I came to Radical after another hairdresser had turned my hair orange! The colourists at Radical are fabulous and really know what they are doing. They fixed my hair so it is now a perfect shade of blonde and they also helped me get the condition of my hair back after years of incorrect colouring. After moving to Sydney, I had Radical recommended to me by a friend and it’s now been over 2 years that I’ve been visiting the team there and my hair is always looking so healthy and I always leave happy. Clare and Akaysha are both absolutely amazing and I value their advice and opinion so much that I usually just take their advice completely and let them do what they’d like to my hair, and it’s always perfect!

I have been going to Radical Hair Design for over 5 years now after the salon was recommended to me by a friend. My hair used to be broken and damaged but since I have been going to Radical Hair I have had Gina really take care of my blonde hair and it is now soft, strong and looks healthy with less breakage. She always uses her skills and knowledge to recommend what she thinks is best for my hair. She always does an amazing job on my microfoils to achieve seamless blonde hair, the colour is perfect every time and I always leave feeling so happy with how my hair looks and feels. Everyone that works in the salon are lovely and I feel like I am talking with my friends when I am there and always have a lovely experience!

I've been coming here for 17 years & would not go anywhere else. The staff at Radical are always professional & listen to your ideas or give ideas on hair cuts, styling & how to look after your hair. You always come out feeling refreshed & relaxed. Radical staff treat you like your family.

I’ve been getting my hair cut and coloured at Radical Hair Design for more than three years. I’ve always left the salon feeling fantastic! I get my hair cut with Gemma - she always takes time at the beginning to find out exactly what I want... But I generally leave it up to her to decide what colour and cut would suit me - she knows best! Highly recommend!!

Just had great lengths Keratin bonds applied to my hair for volume and a little extra length.. They are absolutely amazing and the colour matching BRILLIANT!! Love them!! I started coming to Radical Hair Design in 2015 and I haven’t stopped coming back since. Every time I walk into the studio, I know I will walk out looking and feeling so good about myself. Clare is an incredibly talented stylist and has an attentive eye to detail. She offers insight and honesty and always puts the quality of my hair as her first priority. Coming to see Clare is so rewarding, she is a wealth of knowledge and her incredibly radical personality radiates the moment you step into the studio. Radical had been a game changer for me.

I went to Radical Hair after several hair disasters at other salons in the local area. Gemma was incredibly professional and actually took the time to sit down with me and understand what I wanted for my hair. Her knowledge of hair and colouring is second to none. I love that the salon constantly goes on training courses to keep up to date with latest trends. The atmosphere of the salon is very friendly and approachable - a rare find compared to some of the very “ego-ruled” salons I’ve been to in the past. My hair has never felt or looked better since going to Radical Hair and for that reason I wouldn’t go anywhere else! If you are after a new hairdresser, look no further, the team at Radical Hair are the best!

Gemma and the team at Radical are fantastic! I am always happy with my cut and colour and I frequently get compliments on my colour especially! Gemma hand colours my hair, it looks gorgeous every time and the right blonde. My hair is also in good condition I'm guessing as a result of the products they use. I should also mention that my son and daughter also go to Radical, they love the girls, make them feel comfortable and of course love having good hair! I have no hesitation in recommending this salon to anybody looking for a high quality product and service.
